Tap - Beginning/Intermediate
At this level, most of the basic tap vocabulary will be introduced/reviewed. An emphasis on clarity and rhythmic consistency will be enforced as students progress. Throughout the term, exercises will improve integration and fluidity in linking steps together as well as introducing more complex combinations and rhythms. Traditional tap repertoire such as the Soft Shoe, the Shim Sham, Time Steps and some "air" steps will be introduced. This is an entry level class with room for students looking to transition to upper levels.
Tap - Intermediate/Advanced
The focus of this class will be on rhythm, timing, dynamics, and steady increase of tempo. Stylistically, the concentration of study will emphasize Hoofer technique with some consideration for Broadway style. Attention will be placed on learning how to alternate between duple and triple pulses as students advance, providing a personalized challenge to maintain each student’s improvement. Intermediate level, previous tap experience necessary.
Ballet - Beginning
Basic ballet terminology will be introduced in class with an emphasis on strength, stretch, and balance. Students will achieve a refreshing, full-body workout while experiencing the grace, beauty, and artistry of ballet. All levels welcome, no previous ballet experience necessary.
Ballet - Intermediate/Advanced
This class will move at a brisk pace through ballet terminology and movement and will introduce advanced skills and terminology. Complex combinations are given in barre and in centre. Advanced level, previous dance experience necessary.
