DaySpring has many opportunities for businesses looking to help us broaden our impact on the community. From enlarging our Scholarship Fund to supporting our Performing Arts season of events, there is a need to be filled at any price point. In addition to our ongoing programs, two particular projects that can include naming rights are detailed below. Please contact Nancy Schaaf () for more information.
Black Box Theatre
Our new facility houses our very own flexible theatrical space that is currently used for classes, performances, and gatherings. We have been steadily outfitting it with lights and sound equipment, and will be renting out the space once this process is complete. This provides our students a professional performing experience, and fills a need in the community, while giving us additional revenue. Completing the Black Box will be $50,000, and funding the entire theatre project is $125,000. Audience members coming to this space will number in the thousands.
Our students produce 14 shows per year, fully-costumed and staged productions in a professional theatrical space. We have been renting these theatres and transporting sets and costumes because we feel that this experience is valuable. With increasing difficulty finding these spaces and the desire to offer students this kind of experience year-round, we plan to build a formal theatrical space at the back of our facility. It will seat 350 and be outfitted with top-of-the-line equipment; this will also be a source of revenue. This project can be funded for $7 million, and audience members for this space will exceed $30,000 each year.
