WeDo Lego Robotix Class

Ages 7-9

This class gives younger students and introduction to the basics of coding/programming using the WeDo Lego Robotix platform. Students will build models and then program them to meet specific challenges. They will also learn to incorporate the use of sensors to trigger movement. Each task starts by building the Lego structure and then hooking it up to the computer. Students are then challenged to create a program that will help their lego figure accomplish the given task. Although there is some building in this class, the main focus is on the programming.

Enrichment Friday Class

Engineering & Programming

Put your creative thinking skills to work with the fun of programming and the innovation of creating new machines. Students will be challenged to create things that will solve real life problems and tasks. They will be using the Mindstorm Robotix platform along with many other programming platforms to give them greater exposure to how real engineers work. This class is appropriate for both new and returning students, as it will include new challenges from last year. All of the materials for the class will be provided and kept by DaySpring.

Engineering & Programming

Ages 12 & Up

What better way to get students excited about learning than hands on experience and tools to imagine and create them impossible. The Arduino platform allows students to build sophisticated microcontroller-based gadgets.  Students will have access to Arduino, wearable, and drone supplies to work and create with. They will learn how to code in c++ and program in BetaFlight. Our classes are energetic, fun, and challenging. Students will not only learn to build and use the technology, but discover the exciting and diverse ways in which it can be applied. Once they have mastered some of the basics they will go on to create wearable articles and if they continue into the second semester they will explore drone aircrafts and build something they can keep.

*Students must have their own laptop to use in this class.
