Covid protocols for private music lessons

DaySpring is pleased to welcome you back to in person private music lessons.  We have allowed our teachers to decide on their own level of comfort when to resume in person lessons, please be sure to check-in with them regarding their plan. We will be adjusting our protocols as the need and the local authorities require.

The following measures have been implemented for the safety of everyone.

 

General Policies

  • Who: For the remainder of the summer we are allowing only students, teachers and staff in the building.

  • Health screenings: DaySpring will be screening the health of everyone who enters the building through a questionnaire and temperature check immediately upon entering the building. Feel free to complete the Google Health Screening Form before arriving at DaySpring. Click here for Health Screening Form.

  • Face Coverings: Everyone Kindergarten & up must wear a face covering (mask or shield) when in the public spaces of the building, such as the lobby and hallways. 

    • Plastic see through Shields or masks will be worn by teachers during private lessons  

    • Please bring your own mask.  We have a limited supply of disposable masks if you forget yours.

    • Lessons for certain instruments will have other accommodations to keep students & teachers safe.

    • Please contact your teacher ahead of time if you have questions.

  • Cleaning: Private lesson studios will be cleaned in between lessons.

  • Hand sanitizing supplies will be available in every room.

  • Rooms: Some lessons will be adjusted to take place in larger rooms to accommodate lessons including singing which need more space for safety. 

 

Drop off and pick up procedures

  • Arrival at DaySpring 

    • Phone: Please phone the front desk, 314-291-8878, to let them know you have arrived in the parking lot.  If you have not already completed the Google Form Health Screening, the staff member will ask the questions over the phone.

    • Enter: When the teacher appears we will call for the parent of children under age 9 to walk the student to the front door where the teacher will receive them. (For students 10 and older enter at that time)

    • Temperature: The front desk staff member will take the temperature of the student and record that information. 

    • Sanitize: Students will sanitize hands with available hand sanitizer and proceed with their teacher to the lesson.

  • Pick Up

    • Sanitize: Students will sanitize hands with available hand sanitizer before leaving the music rooms while teacher also sanitizes instruments and area

    • Come to front: Private Lesson teacher will walk the student to the front door.

    • Call: If needed, the front desk staff member will call the parent’s cell phone to let them know the lesson is complete and the student is ready to be picked up.
