MUSICAL THEATRE workshop and performances of...

Come be a part of this exciting and multifaceted musical full of high energy chorus numbers and meaningful moments! Experienced performers and those new to musical theater will have lots of featured time on the stage!


Beyond rehearsing and preparing for the show, performers will take part in intensive training in all areas of the performing arts including drama, dance, voice and technical theatre.  Students will build on their current skills, and try out new classes in appropriate age groups, adding to their repertoire of abilities. Everyone will showcase their developing skills in this funny and dramatic culminating performance of Seussical, complete with sets, costumes and lots of excitement!!


This workshop will be complete with a full production of "Seussical the Musical" on July 26, 27, & 28

performed at De Smet Theatre.


Will occur May 16th, 4-8pm and May 18th, 9-1pm. Must be registered for the workshop to Audition. Everyone who registers will be cast. See auditions Instructions here.


Musical Theatre Workshops include classes at age appropriate levels in: 

Musical Theatre 

Combine skills from drama, voice and dance while learning choreography and rehearsing musical numbers for our show. Students learn teamwork and gain confidence preparing solos, small group numbers and large chorus numbers. 


Students will learn to fully develop a character, from accents to posture and movement, and create a back story to create a 3-dimensional character. Improv skills will train them to think on their feet and problem solve while in character, and audition skills will enable them to earn future roles. 


An integral part of the performing arts to express ideas, tell stories, develop a character or simply show beauty. It also is an excellent tool for refining fine motor skills, developing specific muscle control, training the mind to focus, learning to take and implement constructive criticism, along with building confidence and teamwork. A variety of dance styles such as ballet, jazz, & hip hop will be taught.

Be part of the team that will design and carry out the technical needs of a whole musical! From building props and set pieces, to sound and lighting techniques, as well as basic management, painting backdrops, and being part of the crew, you will love being involved in preparation, rehearsals and performances for "Seussical the Musical!" Roles and jobs will be assigned according to your experience and the skills learned.

*Crew will also be needed July 24, 26-28 for tech week and performances at De Smet Theatre.
