Katelyn Horn

Katelyn Horn is a pianist, vocalist, and teacher of more than 20 years, with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance, a Master of Music in Music Theory, and a Master of Arts in Music Cognition, the study of how the mind processes music. Her research and teaching have always been fed by performing: she has worked for years as a freelance accompanist for recitals, church services, and theater productions, and has sung and acted in her own right. She knows what a piece looks like on the page, what it takes to get it into a body, and what happens in the moments before a young performer walks on stage. Katelyn has taught at the university, community school, and private studio levels, works full time in software engineering, and is a Dayspring parent with two children in the program.
