In this class, we will embark on an exciting, educational and edible adventure in science! Using food as our guide, we will learn about a wide variety of topics in science including the 5 senses: forces, weather, insects, chemistry, earth science, the human body and more! Through discussion, activities, and discovery your little scientist, will be “full” of information by the end of the year!

This class is a continuation of the PreTwinkle Suzuki class. Students in this class have mastered the Twinkle variations and are ready to embark upon Volume 1 of the Suzuki Violin School. Brain Games: Fun Games that will Train Your Mind

Lets stimulate your thinking! With the use of puzzles, crosswords, Scrabble chess, Sudoku, and other outlets that include creative thinking. Students will be intellectually challenged to sharpen certain thinking skills such as processing speed, planning skills, reaction time, and decision making.

Beginning Tap & Jazz +

This upbeat class pairs wonderfully with Beginning Ballet or Musical Theatre 1/Intro, but can also be taken as a stand-alone class. The tap portion of this class will focus on steps that use the different parts of the tap shoe to make specific sounds, while building correct technique. Basic tap vocabulary will be introduced. In the jazz portion of this class, students will learn correct basic alignment, posture, and vocabulary they will use as they begin to learn specific jazz styles in Jazz 1 and up.

Offered by Kinetic Tapestry Physical Theatre company here in the very same building, this class is an introduction and development of everything circus.  This is a physically active class where students are introduced to juggling, balancing, tumbling, and clowning. It will challenge them to not only develop individual body control, be creative and expressive, but also how to work together with a group to create a fun and entertaining piece.

Learn the skills you need to perform your part honestly and with confidence, as you bring the scene from page to stage. This class covers some basic acting skills including creating the physicality of a character, pantomime, vocal variation, projection, diction, stage directions and terms, audition preparation and execution, comic timing and improvisation. We will put these skills into practice using monologues, scene work and drama games. This class is also great for building personal confidence, developing physical coordination and furthering cooperative skills of working with and trusting others.

This class is encouraged to audition for our Full Drama production and will perform in Fall Showcase and Actor's Spotlight.

This class serves as an introduction to some common styles and basic principles of contemporary dance. Biz Town

JA BizTown is a mini-city housing 14 business storefronts located in Chesterfield, MO. Classroom lessons prepare students to take on the challenge of running a small business and managing their personal and business finances at BizTown. Classroom preparation also encompasses career exploration, applying for a job, and job interviews. After completion of the classroom curriculum, students visit JA BizTown to take on the task of running a JA BizTown business for the day.
