This NEW program offers a variety of arts classes with professionals in their fields to supplement your curriculum. Classes are held on Thursdays during the day.
ABOUT OUR PROGRAM

Classes run for the full school year (9 months) from September 2025 to May 2026.

Although some class titles may remain the same from year to year, the content changes. All classes can be taken for multiple years to allow for individual growth.

Some classes participate in performances (noted in each class description).

DaySpring takes breaks for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring.

Aftercare is available for an additional fee.
Musical Theatre Jazz
Ages 11-14
*New this year* Musical Theatre Jazz is designed to pair with Musical Theatre 2. In this class, students will learn skills and techniques needed for musical theatre choreography.
This class performs in DaySpring’s end of year recital, Finale.
Musical Theatre 2
Ages 12-14
At this crucial time in their development, this class is a fun and challenging training ground for the teen musical theatre performer! Students will receive training in singing, acting, dancing, plus performance technique through working on material from traditional and modern musicals. Vocal work and projection, physicality, acting skills, choreography, stage presence, and much more will be covered in this fast paced class!

This class will perform in Fall Showcase, Finale, and a musical in the spring.
Open Studio
Ages 13+
In this class, students will explore how the elements and principles of design shape effective composition. They will engage in thoughtful discussions, comparing and contrasting various styles, materials, and artistic techniques. Lively conversations will encourage them to express personal insights and interpretations, fostering a supportive environment for creative exploration. Through this open studio approach, students will develop their unique artistic voices while building a strong foundation in visual art analysis.
Jazz & Jam: Exploring Improvisation
Ages 13+
Perfect class for beginners looking to discover the art of musical communication. In this class, you’ll learn how improvisation is like a musical conversation, where you can "speak" through your instrument or voice, creating and responding to others in real-time. Through simple, fun exercises and jamming sessions, you’ll explore the basics of improvisation, build confidence, and develop your musical voice. Whether you’re a complete beginner or just looking to loosen up your playing, this class will teach you the foundations of improvisation in a supportive, low-pressure environment.
Creating Dances: Improvisation & Choreography
Ages 15+
*New this Year* This class will explore creative practices through movement. For both the experienced and new dance students to learn improvisational practices and composition skills. Students will create their own improvisational scores, learn composition skills, and create their own choreography. Students in this class will work with the instructor to plan an end of year project showcase of their creative work.
