DAYTIME CLASSES
Art Creators
Ages 5-6
Our Fine Arts curriculum is designed to grow with students, revisiting core ideas like storytelling, identity, and design while building skills through techniques that intentionally stack over time. Students learn the fundamental elements of art—line, shape, form, color, value, texture, and space—and key design principles such as balance, contrast, emphasis, movement, pattern, rhythm, proportion, and unity at age-appropriate levels. In younger classes, these concepts are explored through imaginative play and hands-on activities with shapes, lines, and color, nurturing creativity, confidence, and a love for visual expression.

In this playful and imaginative class, students develop observational and analytical skills through hands-on projects that spark curiosity and creativity. They explore different artistic media, learn new art vocabulary, identify shapes, lines, and colors in the world around them, and begin to understand how color and visual elements can communicate feelings and ideas. As students progress, teachers build strong studio habits—focus, persistence, and collaboration—while introducing diverse artists, cultures, and materials, culminating in exhibitions and celebrations of student work.
