Designed for young students to explore famous artists and the elements of art using a variety of materials including paint, oil pastel, clay, and much more! While learning about value, shape, color, line, form, and texture, students will be able to begin exploring their own creativity and make lots of fun and interactive projects each week!
These project-based lessons are designed to teach students about the principles of art. They will participate in a variety of projects using different media like mixed media, sculpture, drawing, and painting. Students will begin a basic understanding of the elements and principles of art seen in both their own art and others’ including many famous artists in history. This is a very fun and active class for eager kids!
Dive into clay to learn the basics of hand building, sculpture, and texture! Students will create sculptures using various types of clay and techniques to further develop their handbuilding ceramic skills. We will learn pinching, coiling, and glazing techniques with earthenware clay and create simple bowls and vases using these techniques. We will continue to have a few fun air dry clay projects as well.
This class will combine Art + Architecture. Students will learn to create 3 D structures through artistic exploration. This class uses everyday materials like paper, cardboard, legos, recyclable and natural materials to create interesting 3 dimensional structures.
A beginner to intermediate class, working with clay is for people who want to have fun exploring clay through tile-making, hand-building and more. From sculpture to functional serving pieces, participants create works in clay in a well-designed studio and supportive environment. We will learn slab building, carving, and glazing techniques with earthenware clay to create a variety of simple to complex tiles, trays, clocks, and masks. Participants are encouraged to come up with their own ideas for projects after learning techniques. This class is geared towards teens and adults.
